Sarah Faust receives 2019 Dover Sons & Daughters Scholarship

SWEP has announced the name of the local winner of the Dover Sons & Daughters Scholarship Program.  The Dover Sons & Daughters Scholarship recognizes outstanding high school seniors and current college students who are the children of Dover employees and who have demonstrated excellence through their academic record, test scores, leadership abilities, and through their extracurricular activities and work record.

Awardees may receive up to $10,000 in undergraduate scholarship support contingent upon maintaining academic and program eligibility.  Now in its eighth year, this program has made 281 awards totaling over $1.9 million in scholarship support. 

Sarah Faust, daughter of SWEP North America employee Bill Faust, is one of the 25 children of Dover employees that have been selected as recipients of the 2019 class of Dover Sons & Daughters Scholarship awards.  Ms. Faust graduated high school back in 2018 with a 4.5 GPA and has just currently completed her Freshman year at the University of Missouri.  She is majoring in Political Science and minoring in French and maintains a GPA of 3.9 presently.  She has always been an exemplary student as well as a member of many academic related societies.  While in high school, Ms. Faust was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, President of Quill & Scroll, Editor in Chief of the Talon (student newspaper), Youth in Government, and Future Business Leaders of America.   She was also active in sports during her high school career as a member of the basketball and softball teams. Sarah was also chosen as the student representative to give the commencement speech at her high school graduation which is a high honor as well as it shows how well respected she is among her peers.  Since enrolling in college, she is VP of Media Outreach for Moot Court and a member of the Alpha Delta PI soroity.  She has also been recognized during her college career and was presented with the University of Missouri’s Chancellor’s Award, Missouri Bright Flight, as well as several journalism awards.  In addition, Ms. Faust was recently hired to be a Pearson Campus Ambassador for the University of Missouri.

 

                       

 

In addition to her scholastic achievements, she also lends her time as a volunteer at Ronald McDonald House in Columbia, MO.  After graduation, she plans to enroll in law school to further continue her studies.  SWEP would like to congratulate Sarah on this awesome achievement and wish her the best in all her future endeavors!

 

Ms. Faust is SWEP North America’s second local winner of this prestigious scholarship in just two years.  Last year’s winner for SWEP NA was Ms. Haley Williams of Tulsa, OK.  At present, Haley has just finished a successful freshman year at Tulsa University where she maintains a 4.0 GPA and is also a member of the Delta, Delta, Delta sorority.  SWEP is proud of all our current and past winners of this award and know they have a bright future ahead of them.
